The internet, not surprisingly, is gaga over video. Research says so, but you’d have to have your head buried in the sand to not see it for yourself. Every day people watch hundreds of millions of hours of video on YouTube. Video has more marketing power than photographs. Some would say even more power than the printed word. This writer would disagree, of course, but one thing we can all agree on: video can be used to harness the power of story to grow your tribe of loyal fans.
Video will get your business traction on YouTube, especially now that Google owns YouTube. But your real goal with using video is to drive traffic back to your website. So that you can build and deepen your relationships with prospects. The sales cycle can be long, with most experts suggesting that it can take, typically, seven or more “touches” to make a sale. But who knows? Someone searching the Net could see your video at just the right moment to buy from YOU!
Whether slick or simple, videos need one thing: clear, concise storytelling that communicates your message.
If you’re not using video, and want to chat about how you might use it in your business, contact me. I can certainly help you with the messaging. Check out my portfolio. It contains a link to a video, for Rampart Construction, for which I wrote the script.
